In Tendai Buddhism, we place great emphasis on the teacher / disciple relationship. For this reason, we expect that everyone sincerely interested in studying and practising in our school, will try to connect with an authorised master of the Dharma.
Currently, the Tendai Buddhist Institute in New York and the California Tendai Learning Centre are the only options for those not fluent in Japanese.
